Congratulations to AdeRisa Productions, who debuted their short film, Forgiving Heart at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood at Outfest 2013.( HBO and NBC Universal were sponsors). This short will be used in their upcoming feature Bruising for Besos, to be filmed in Ventura County by director, Adelina Anthony!!

                               Two Year Tax Credit Extension for CA

Assembly Bill 2026 and Senate Bill 1197 were signed into law on September 30, 2012 by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to extend funding for California's Film & Television Tax Credit Program. The two-year, $200 million extension ensures that tax credits will be available through fiscal year 2016-17.

The original five-year Program enacted in 2009 was part of an economic stimulus package to increase film and TV production spending, jobs and tax revenues in California. Last year, the Program was extended for a single year through fiscal 2014-15 when the Governor signed AB 1069 into law. The new two-year extension provides added continuity and certainty to a program that has proved very successful.

Recently wrapped and now in post production, Grace Under Pressure, Coram Deo Studios filmed on the city of Ventura beach, next to the pier.

The Greek at the Harbor in Ventura was featured on the 8pm national airing of Kitchen Nightmares on FOX 11 on Friday, November 18. 

Local Ventura historian, Glenda Jackson, was interviewed for Investigation Discovery's, "Deadly Women".  The segment aired on November 11, 2011 and features the infamous story of Ma Duncan; the woman who paid to have her daughter-in-law killed. The actual trial was held in our very own City Hall. 

***Moorpark West Studios is coming to Ventura county. The studios that will include 12 sound stages, three office buildings, 18 studio support buildings and 1,696 surface parking spaces on about 44 acres in the city of Moorpark; has been approved by the Moorpark City Council.

UPDATE: Bellflower has been released on DVD

***Bellflower, an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival 2011 screened  in Ventura in August at the Century 10 Theatre in downtown Ventura. This apocalyptic love story was the creation of Writer-Director Evan Glodell.
